Mr. Gordon A. Wilson of Greenwood, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in a Fort Smith hospital. Mr. Wilson was 86 years old. He was a retired newspaper employee in the Long Beach, California area. Mr. Wilson was also a World War II veteran; having served in the Canadian mililtary forces. He was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California and was a faithful supporter of the Greenwood United Methodist Church. He was a world traveler and enjoyed gourmet cooking. He was revered as the "postman" for Pink Bud Nursing Home and Golden Years Village for a number of years. Those who loved him (and everyone loved Gordon) will remember him for his rough, gruff character – hiding a warm and caring heart.
Mr. Wilson was a "missionary kid," having come from a family of 5 siblings.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Grace; a brother: Walter Wilson; aand a grandson: Bailey Oliver.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Evelyn Wilson; two sons: Gary Wilson and his wife: Linda, of Vancouver, Canada and Rober Corbin and his wife: Carolyn, of Greenwood, Arkansas; two daughters: Rhonda Oliver and her husband: Don, and Sheila Corbin, all of Greenwood, Arkansas; a sister: Dorothy Letchford, of Georgia; and a brother: Paul Wilson, of Toronto, Canada; 9 wonderful grandchildren; 5 precious great-grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of dear friends.

Funeral service was held at Greenwood United Methodist Church. He was laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were: Don Elmore, Phil Bunch, Jeff Bryant, Alan Dodd, Sam Jennings, Jerry Nelson, David Waits and John O'Bar. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday school class.
