Murat Quentin Keeney, age 90, senior citizen of Pittsboro, died Sunday afternoon at the Golden Manor Nursing Home, Brownsburg.
A lifelong resident of Pittsboro, he was born July 28, 1882, the son of John and Mary Waters Keeney. He received his education from the Pittsboro schools and was the last survivor of the graduating Class of 1898.
A former school teacher, he was the first secretary and/or office manager of the ASC (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation) office in Hendricks County. He was a member of the Indiana and Hendricks County Historical Societies, Pittsboro Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and the
Pittsboro Christian Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday morning from the Gregory Funeral Home with Elder Sherman Essex officiating. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
Cousins are the only survivors.
