Elisha Alvin Carter Sr., 94, of Stephens, died Monday. He was a World War I veteran and a Baptist. Survivors are a son, Elisha Carter Jr. of Stephens; five daughters, Marjorie Faye Westmoreland of Arlington, Texas, Alma Mae Ferrell, Willie Belle Jinks, and Helen Long of Stephens, and Dorothy England of Jessieville; a sister, Mae Ward of Telephone, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Stephens. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery by Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.
