BLACKSHEAR -- Charles Leon Bennett, 77, died Oct. 12 at home. The Millwood native lived in Pierce County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Blackshear Presbyterian Church and Pierce County Farm Bureau.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Anne Crosby Bennett of Blackshear; three sons, Patrick Bennett and Chuck Parrish, both of Blackshear, and Tommy Parrish of Clinton, S.C.; four sisters, Louise Conley of St. Marys, Jean Riggins of Blackshear, Joan Bugos of Christmas, Fla., and Ruth Esmode of Snellville; a sister-in-law, Doris Bennett of Blackshear; six grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several other relatives.

FUNERAL: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Blackshear Presbyterian Church, burial in Shiloh Cemetery. -Savannah Now, Oct 1999
