Died on the 4th inst. in this place, of paralysis, Mrs. Clarine E. Barber, consort of Edwin N. Barer.

The deceased was born in Canton, Stark county, Ohio, on the 14th of August, 1822. She was married to Edwin N. Barber, at Paris, in the same county, Oct. 18, 1839, and moved to Johnson township, in this county in 1841, where she lived until 1847, and then came to Marshall, where she has resided ever since.

She leaves the following named near relatives to deeply mourn her departure, Edwin N. Barber, her husband; Herbert B. Reed, her only brother now living, and the following children, viz: Noyes Barber of of Howard, Kansas; Mrs. Henrietta Shaw of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Greenough and Miss Ada Barber, of this place.

She was suddenly called away in the autumn of her life, possessing all the attributes that merited and commanded the love, steeem and affection of all who knew her.

She was a devoted wife, an affectionate mother, and a welcomed friend in time of need and distress.

Her life was adorned with that christian charity and tenderness of feeling that the distressed and unfortunate found in her a true friend and benefactress.

She was a devoted member of the Congregational church, having united with the church in 1865, under the ministry of the late Rev. M. A. Jewett, of Terre Haute, Ind.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Jame Deighton at the family residence on Sabbath morning and was attended by a large number of the friends and relatives.
