Mrs. Nancy Louella Koder--Mrs. Nancy Koder, 86, wife of the late Henry Koder, a retired farmer of Tool's Chapel, succumbed early this morning in Ames, Iowa at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Strunce, with whom she lived. Mrs. Koder's death came at 1:00 folowing a week's critical illness with pneumonia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 in the Morgan Funeral Home. Interment will be in Newton Union Cemetery. Daughter of the late Jonas and Rebecca Roush, she was born Aug. 30 1858 at Hillsboro, Ohio. At the age of 18 years she came with her parents to Iowa, locating near Monroe. On Sep. 23, 1880 she was united in marriage to Mr. Koder and the couple spent the greater part of their married life on a farm in the Monroe vicinity until their retirement about 10 years ago. Since that time they had made their home with their children. Mr. Koder passed away May 26, 1944, at the home in Newton of his daughter, Mrs. John Chaplin. Also preceding her in death were a son and daughter. Surviving are 9 children, Mrs. John (Kate) Chaplin of Newton, John Koder of Newton, Fred Koder of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. J.E. (Sophia) McColloch of Indianapolis, Ind., Raymond Koder of Reasnor, Mrs. George (Lydia) Robinson of Newton, Mrs. W.A. (Marie) Bohnsack of taintor, Ind., Mrs. John (Eva) Gorman of Newton, and Mrs. Stanley (Beulah) Strunce of Ames, Iowa. All will be here for the service. She was the last surviving member of a family of 11.
