On October 24, 1907, Amelia boarded the SS Frankfurt in Bremen, Germany to immigrate to America. Amelia was traveling with her young sons Emil and August to meet her husband, Ludwig Louis Reiter and son Carl, who had previously immigrated about 1 year prior. Her daughters, Wilamena, Christena, and Emelia, had immigrated about 6 months prior to Amelia, Emil and August. On November 17, 1907, Amelia and her two young sons arrived in Galveston, Texas. They then traveled on to join her husband Ludwig, son Carl, and her 3 daughters who had all settled in Tyler, Williamson County, Texas.
