Between 1910 & 1920 his family move to Flint, Genesee County, MI, where he lived most of his life, until he moved to Chesaning, MI in 1960. He lived in Chesaning until his death.
He met Edith I. Webster at a local roller skating rink where they quickly fell in love. They married at the Mt. Morris Methodist Church in Mt. Morris, Genesee County, MI on 31 Dec 1936. The couple had 12 children; Jack, Lurena, Ada, Daniel, Ruth, Franklin, Mary, Ray, Linda, David, Pauline, & Robert.
