He was the son of Harold and Margie Grider Buis of Yosemite.
He was the owner of Yosemite Motors, a farmer and former owner of Lee's Famous Recipe.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Pamela Kay Bastin Buis; a daughter, Angel Starr (and Bryan) Stephens; a son, Garryd Lee (and Lisa) Buis; two brothers, Rodney (and Cathy) Buis and Keith (and Robin) Buis and three grandchildren, Alexis and Abigail Hood and Rylan Buis.
