Chan J. Blough, 69, died at 9:15 this morning at his home, 1579 South Main. He had been in failing health for 2 1/2 years and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage May 8.
The deceased was born Oct. 2, 1876, northeast of Bristol, the son of Joseph P. and Christina (Stayrook)Blough. He married Mattie Housour in 1906 and she died Dec. 27, 1925. On Aug 21, 1928, in Chicago, he married Ethel M. Bibler of Goshen. He had lived in Elkhart county his entire life. He operated a harness shop in Nappanee until 1912 when he came to Elkhart, where he owned and operated barber shops. In 1924 he entered the real estate business, from which he retired several years ago. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow; a son, LaMar Blough of Elkhart, a daughter, Miss Carolyn Blough, at home; a grandson, Stanley Blough, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Lydia Mast Blough of Middlebury, Mrs. S. E. (Orilla) Plank of Goshen and Mrs. Mayme Lantz of Bristol.
Funeral services will be Monday at 4 p. m. at the Charles Walley Chapel. Friends may call after Sunday noon. The Rev. D. K. Finch, pastor of the Simpson Methodist Church will be in charge. Burial Will be in Olive Cemetery.
