Craig was born September 27, 1977 in Allen County Indiana @ the old Lutheran Hospital that was located on Fairfield Ave (it had since been razed). His parents are Bruce Sonner and Debra (Hall) (Sonner) Holben. He moved with his family to Columbia South Carolina about 1985. The family then moved to a home that they built in Irmo, SC where Craig attended middle school. He also was in Cub scout troop 3333 and later in Boy Scout troop 333. About 1990 the family moved to Auburn, Indiana were he attended school, and later graduated from, Dekalb High School. He was a member of Boy Scout troop 169 that was being lead by Scoutmaster Tom Bassett , he was awarded the Order of Arrow, and later was to earn his Eagle rank which was awarded to him in 1995. Craig graduated from high school in 1995, he then went to the United States Army and performed his basic training @ Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. Shortly after basic training he was to marry Sharman Roop to which was born their only child Brian Allen Sonner on 4 March 1999. Craig was in several units in the Army and was in many countries throughout the Middle East, Africa, & Europe. His last few years in the Army were with the 5th Special Forces Group in Clarksville Tn. @ Fort Campbell. While he was in Army he received his jump wings and had performed 73 jumps. He also earned and received his Air Assault Wings. He left the Army in 2002 with an Honarable Discharge. On Dec 7, 2003 Craig was found dead ,in his uncle's barn in Knoxville TN. Craig is fondly rembered by his family and will be missed.
