Elsie Pope Curtiss, 93, of Milford, formerly of Seymour, wife of the late Leslie George Curtiss, died May 9, at CT Hospice in Branford.

Daughter of the late Lewis and Susan Warburton Pope, she was born Sept. 29, 1916.

Mrs. Curtiss graduated from Seymour High School in 1935. She was married to Leslie on Nov. 27, 1935. She resided in Seymour on Grand Street from 1946 to 1966, and lived in Ansonia on Hotchkiss Terrace from 1966 to 2001.

Mrs. Curtiss retired from the former Homer D. Bronson Company, where she had worked from 1947 to 1978 as a foreman's clerk. She was a member of the Seymour United Methodist Church.

She lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Gerald Curtiss Sr. and Cora Martin Curtiss, for the remainder of her life from 2001.

She also is survived by five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Johns, Isabel Rivers, and Lillian James; and her brothers, Carl Pope and Johnny McKenna.

Services are Friday, May 14, 5 p.m., in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour. Private burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Oxford. Visiting hours, Friday, May 14, 4 p.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Seymour United Methodist Church Restoration Fund, 90 Pearl St., Seymour, CT 06483.
