Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Warde Mitchell Cameron, 81, died July 19, 1991 at home.

Born November 28, 1909 inSalt Lake City, Utah to David H. and Adelia Horrocks Cameron. He married Virginia J. Woolley on January 2, 1950 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served and LDS Mission to Holland in 1928-31.

Student at University of Utah. Graduated with a Masters Degree in Law from George Washington University 1937.

He was an attorney with the Federal Public Housing Authority. Legal adviser for Administration of Foreign Service. Executive assistant to assistant Secretary State for occupied areas. Executive Assistant, Office Legal Adviser, State Department. Asstistant legal adviser diplomatic and counsular affairs 1960-1964. Consul General, Amsterdam, Netherlands 1964. Vice Chairman, alternate U.S. representative UN Conference Diplomatic Intercourse and Immunities, Vienna, Austria, 1961. Chairman delegation UN Conf. Consular Relations, Vienna, 1963. Treasurer, general manager, Federal Credit Union, State Department 1956-64. Member of Foreign Service Board Examiners, State Dept. 1957-64.

Lt. Col. US Army 1942-46. Decorated Legion of Merit, OBE Honorary officer Order British Empire, presented by King George, Sixth, 1945.

Vice President and general manager of Ballet West. Active in civic affairs. Ran for office of Salt Lake County Commissioner.Member Rotary Club. Long time member of Bonneville Knife & Fork Club.

Member of the LDS Church, High Priest, held many positions in the church.

Survived by wife, Virginia, children, Mrs. John (Sharon) Strong, Salt Lake City; Fergus R. Woolley, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Warde Mitchell Cameron, Jr., Lenexa, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, David Cameron, Arizona and one sister, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) McLaren, Orem, Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 12 Noon, July 23,1991 in the Valley View 10th LDS Ward Chapel, 2000 East 3900 South. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Tuesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
