MRS. E. S. BLIZZARD.
Death came Sudenly to Well Known Randolph Women
Mrs. E. S. BLIZZARD, 54, passed away at her home on east Hughson street at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, of hernia and fibroid tumor. Mrs. BLIZZARD had been in poor health for the past several years and gradually became worse last August, but for the past month her health was such that no fear was held for her recovery. At the X-mas time a family reunion was held at the BLIZZARD home at which time she was in excellent spirits and indeed happy with her family. The end came rapidly, she was taken ill Monday and passed away at 11:15 a. m. Wednesday.
Mary Adaline BEEMS was born in Greencastle, Jasper county, Iowa, Oct. 16, 1871. She moved as a small child with her parents to Harlan, Iowa, and there received her education in the schools of Shelby county. On January 22, 1889 (1890), she was married to Edwin S. BLIZZARD at Harlan, making their home on a farm in Shelby county for six years. They then moved to Harlan where they resided until June, 1904, when they moved to Bonesteel, S. D. returning to Harlan in 1913 and moving to Randolph in 1916 where they have since resided.
Mrs. BLIZZARD was very unassuming and loved by all who knew her. Her first thoughts were of her home and family; a peer among mothers and an excellent home-loving wife. She had until the past few years been an ardent worker in the Methodist church of which she had been a member since 12 years of age. She was also a member of the local chapter of the Easter Star.
Deceased leaves her husband and three children, her death being the first break in the family circle. The three children are Mrs. A. E. LINDLEY, Randolph, Mrs. C. A. SMITH, Berrick, S. D., and Clark BLIZZARD, Randolph.
She also leaves two brothers; J. E. BEEMS of Randolph and C. A. BEEMS of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Friday of 10:30 a.m. at the Methodist church, Rev. Andrews offciating. Intermetn will be made in the Randolph cemetery. *The Randolph Times, (Randolph, Nebraska), 07 Jan. 1926. Copy from Randolph Library. Theresa Thanks for the copy. *tk05/17/2010c. *FYI: M.
