Floyd R. Burroughs, principal of Pittsboro High School for the past 10 years, died, Friday, in the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, at the age of 62.
A native of Daviess County, he had taught 13 years in the Franklin County Schools and Bloomingdale prior to moving to Pittsboro.
He was a member of the Bloomingdale Friends Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles. He graduated from the former Central Normal College, Danville, and Butler University.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon in the Bloomingdale Friends Meeting House with burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rockville. The Baker Funeral Home, Danville, was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Alice Burroughs; a daughter, Karen Burroughs, at home; his mother, Mrs. Arlie Burroughs, of Hubart, and a sister.
