Sgt. Everett Fuller, 21, son of Charles B. Fuller, of Whiteley Township, died November 19, 1944, from wounds received in battle in France while serving with the Seventh Army in southern France.

Sgt. Fuller was the son of Charles B. Fuller, of Whiteley Township, and the late Leta Day Fuller. He was born July 23, 1923, in Whiteley Township, where he had spent most of his life before entering the Army.

A graduate of Waynesburg High School in the class of 1942, he was a member of the varsity wrestling team and of the Hi-Y Club in high school. He was also an accomplished horseman and had frequently shown horses at horse shows held at Waynesburg.

He entered the Army March 1, 1943, while a freshman at Waynesburg College, where he was a member of the Phi Sigma social fraternity. After entering service he trained at Ft. Lewis, Washington, Shreveport, La., and Camp Phillips, Salina, Kan. He went overseas in September 1944, and was assigned to the 44th Infantry Division of the Seventh Army. He went directly to France and participated in a number of engagements. One of the last letters received from him was written on November 6, and stated that he had been in Paris.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg.

In addition to his father and his stepmother, Ruth D. Fuller, he leaves two brothers, Pvt. George Ralph Fuller, with the Army Air Corps at Laredo, Texas, and Charles Jr., at home; and one sister, Mary Virginia, at home. Also his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clemmie C. Day, of Waynesburg and his paternal grandfather, Smith Fuller, of Whiteley Township.
