Pauline "Polly" Seals, age 92, of Ozark, passed away May 28, 2010. She was born February 17, 1918 on a farm near Ozark, the youngest of six children born to James B. and Amanda (Page) Anderson.
Polly attended Ozark School , SMS, and graduated from the Draughans School of Business in Springfield. In 1936 she and Leon Seals were married. He preceded her in death in 1981. Polly joined American Airlines in Tulsa in 1953 and after 22 years of service, retired in 1975. She had been Secretary to the American Airlines Flight Test Pilots. In 1975 she and her husband returned to Missouri, living in Springfield and Ozark. Polly was a former member of the Ozark Study Club, Ladies Literary Club, Modern Seekers, and O.E.S. Chapter #98 of Ozark. She was a member of Ozark First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Downer, Ozark; a son, Mitchell Seals of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren, Grant Downer of Flower Mound, Texas, Brent Downer of Fayetteville, AR, Marti Biles of Missouri City, TX, and Tara Seals Toney of Hatfield, MA; six great-grandchildren, Blake and Blair Downer, Fletcher and Sydney Biles, Mackenzie Downer, and Hollis Toney; a sister-in-law Grace Anderson of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Frank and Gratz Anderson, and three sisters, Martha Susan Flood, Gussie Haguewood, and Mary Ellen Anderson.
The family greatly appreciates the staff of Ozark Nursing and Care Center and Compassus Hospice for the attention and care provided to Polly.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, May 31, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Troy Rhoden officiating. Burial will follow in Selmore Cemetery, Ozark.
