Deloris Mel Rae Dragon, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Clinton, Utah on Friday, May 28, 2010 of natural causes.

Born in St. Anthony, Idaho in 1935, she would have celebrated her seventy-fifth birthday on June 14, 2010. Deloris was the sixth child of Earsel Heaps and Bessie Morgan Heaps, and grew up with three sisters, Dora, Maxine and Della, and two brothers, Earl and Buddy. Dora Bailey & Earl Heaps survive her.

Deloris was a wonderful and loving mother of four, grandmother of thirteen and great-grandmother of nine.

She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty-seven years, John J. Dragon, and her three sons, Steve (Beckie), Bob, and Jack (June) Dragon. She was preceded in death by her daughter DeAnn Marie Dragon Mockli Percival.

Deloris was a craftsperson extraordinaire, from crocheting to quilting, needlepoint to paper quilling. She created many beautiful heirlooms that will be cherished by her family for years to come. She was an amazing seamstress. Her family scrapbooks are works of art that continue to bring great joy to her family.

She loved to travel, enjoyed theatre, barbershop quartets and trips to Wendover with her husband. She doted on her little dog Missy, and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Deloris will be greatly missed by her family and friends and would wish that in her death we celebrate her life and many heartfelt contributions.

Funeral Services will held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. A viewing will take place from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., with services to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
