Lloyd Eugene Herrmann, 85, Robertsville, passed away at Washington Thursday, May 1,2003. He was born Sept. 18, 1917, the son of Edward Herrmann and his wife Elsie Irene, nee Zumwalt.

On July 11, 1941, he was united in marriage to Emogene Margie Humphrey.

Mr. Herrmann was owner and operator of the Lloyd Herrmann Barber Shop in Normandy and then in Robertsville. He volunteered many hours to help support the Democratic Party.

Mr. Herrmann was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II entering July 2, 1941, and receiving his honorable discharge Nov. 1, 1945. He was a lifetime member and current commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6665 at Catawissa. He also was a lifetime member and past commander, judge advocate, chaplain and vice-commander and current quartermaster and adjutant general of American Legion Post 212 at St. Louis.

Mr. Herrmann was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Robertsville Lodge 444 and a 57-year Mason, having been initiated Jan. 5, 1946, passed April 6, 1946, and raised May 4, 1946. He was a current member with the Fraternal Lodge 363 in Robertsville.

He was past commander of the Forty and Eight Voiture 448 of Missouri. He also was a member of the National Association 6th Infantry Division.

Mr. Herrmann was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one brother, Walter Herrmann.

He is survived by his daughter, Kay Murphy and husband Paul, Temecula, Calif.; three grandchildren, Capt. Dina Wandler and husband Matthias, Rodelsee, Germany, Sean Murphy and Meghan Murphy, both of Temecula, Calif.; one great-grandson, Alex Wandler, Rodelsee, Germany; one brother-in-law, Guy Humphrey, Carson City, Nev.; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; by his special friends, Bob Wors and wife Dolly and son Jimmy, Robertsville; other relatives and many friends.

A Masonic service was held Friday, May 2, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 3, at Union Cemetery, Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Skidds officiating. Memorials to the Masonic Home, Columbia, are preferred.

The Herrmann family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
