George Stottlemyer Obituary:
Services were held this afternoon for retired Army veteran, George Stottlemyer, 68, a former resident of Lapel.
Mr. Stottlemyer died Saturday morning at Veteran's Hospital in Marion. Born in Hamilton County, he enlisted in the service in 1930. He was a member of the Arcadia Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Stottlemyer is survived by the widow, Mary, a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Clark of Upland, and a son Charles Land [Londt], of Columbia City. Also surviving are two brothers, William of Kenton, and Raymond of Clarksville; three sisters, Mrs. Sharley Hersberger of Lapel, Mrs Mary Dellinger of Tipton, and Mrs Lauretta Ehman of Zionsville.
Following services at Fishers Brothers Funeral Home at Lapel, Mr. Stottlemyer was buried in Brookside Cemetery.
