John Robert Killebrew, 71, of Goodman died Monday at Holmes County Community Hospital in Lexington where he had been a patient for eight days.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, from the United Methodist Church in Goodman with Reverend H. G. Wallace, Reverend Dewey Metts, and Reverend Ray Earls officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Killebrew was a native of Holmes County. He was a retired farmer, a prominent landowner and a member of the United Methodist Church of Goodman.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Doris Holladay Killebrew; two sons, John Agie Killebrew of Winona and Jerry H. Killebrew of Laplace, La.; three daughters, Miss Mildred C. Killebrew of Minden, La.; Mrs. Nancy Lowe of Goodman and Mrs. Shirley Rebill of Shalimar, Florida; a brother, Joseph R. Killebrew of Goodman; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Donald and Mrs. Lillie Gordon, both of Goodman, and 8 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Moorhead, R. L. McClesky, Bennie Killebrew, Lamar Roberts, George Thomas, H. Boyette, Eddie Sparkman and Louis Alexander.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. P. B. Brumby, R. W. Almond, Frank Branch, T. E. Powell, Louis Lipsey, Lloyd Higgins, Arthur Land, Sr., George Edwards and Cecil Clements.
