Anna Antonia Deepe was born July 28, 1874, in Grulick, Austria, the daughter of Clemen and Anna Lack. She departed this life March 29, 1956, at the home of her daughter, Pauline, in Denver, Colo.,following a brief illness, having reached the age of 81 years, eight months and one day.

She was baptized in infancy.

Anna came to the United States in 1902 to make her home. On February 23, 1903, she was united in holy wedlock to John Deepe. This union was blessed with ten children who are all living at this time.

The Deepes made their home on a farm near Shickley, Nebr., for the first nine years of married life. They then moved to a farm south of Carleton where they made their home until their retirement in 1944. They then moved into town in Carleton. During these years they were members of Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton.

In 1945 her husband departed this life. Following this Mrs. Deepe made her home with her children but mainly with her daughter, Dorothy, and became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron. She spent her last two winters with Pauline in Denver, where she also departed this life.

Mrs. Deepe was pleasant to live with and was always a very busy woman. She spent most of her time sewing and this made her contented and happy.

The beloved mother was preceded in death only by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by her ten children: Carl of Boulder, Colo., Edward of Bruning, Mrs. Martha Holtzen of Salina, Kans., Paul of Carleton, Mrs. Pauline Vantrees of Denver, Colo., William of Petaluma, Calif., Martin of Carleton, Mrs. Anna Bates of Edgar, Mrs. Emma Cochran of Lincoln, and Mrs. Dorothy McLaughlin of Hebron.
Also remembering her are 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Adolph Lack, and family of Gardenia, Calif., besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron by Rev. G. J, Meyer on Monday afternoon.

Interment was in the Carleton Cemetery.

Music was by Irene Pubanz, Mrs. Richard Dutcher, Mrs. Henry Kripal and Mrs. Martin Hoops.
Pallbearers were grandsons Vernon Deepe of Shickley, Dean Deepe of Carleton, Owen Deepe and Donald Deepe of Bruning, Ralph Holtzen of Reynolds and Ray Stigge of Stanton.
