Mrs. Patterson died Sunday morning in a Rusk nursing home. She was born April 1, 1920, in Ranger. She resided in Atoy for 20 years, moving there from Cushing. Mrs. Patterson attended nursing school in Paris in 1938 and served as a nurse in the U. S. Army Air Corps from 1940 until 1957. She later worked as a nurse's aide at Rusk Memorial Hospital at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home and at Town Hall Estates. She also worked part-time for Meals on Wheels in Rusk and was a member of the Atoy Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Patterson, in 1983, and a brother, Pat Stuard in 1994.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Steve Helm of Atoy; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Mary Stuard of Red Bluff, Calif.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Charles Reed of Butte City, Calif., Ruby and Melvin Clark of Hesperia, Calif., Pug and Chuck Sutterfield of San Springs, Okla., two grandchildren, Cody Helm and Amy Helm, both of Atoy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Members of the Atoy Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
