He is survived by his wife, Marie Asplund of Eugene; children: James Asplund of Eugene, Aileen Berger of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mary Lee Ellingsen of Florence, Oregon; 2 brothers, Axel Asplund of Hoquiam, Washington, and Albert Asplund of Tacoma, Washington; 2 sisters, Aileen Dawson and Elma Sundstrom, both of Tacoma, Washington; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
