Mike was born on Oct. 23, 1951, to James Lloyd Bennett and Lucinda "Cindy" Ruth Blanda Bennett in Ponca City. He attended Ponca City Schools. He married Anita Gale Goodsir on June 4, 1970, in Oklahoma City. Mike owned and operated Bennett's Drywall and Painting for several years and Jack's Full Throttle until his illness forced him to retire.
Mike had several enjoyments which included being outdoors, fishing, cooking, riding his motor trike and planning road trips. His favorite quote was "where riders meet and journeys begin." He was also an avid OU and NASCAR fan.
Mike loved to be surrounded by friends and family, but his main enjoyment came from being with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His presence will be greatly missed.¬
He is survived by his wife, Anita of the home; daughters, Tomara Campbell and family of Chandler and Chasity Young and family of Marland; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; father, James L. Bennett of Ponca City; and sisters, Janet VanHousen of Ponca City, Marcy Cudd of Moore and Laurie Bennett of Ponca City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy Bennett; daughter, Phillian Peace Stark; and brother, Jimmy "Moose" Bennett.
Casket bearers for the service will be Pete Horne, Ralph Mayberry, Dave Pollock, Cookie Scott, Wayne King, Rod Davis and Lee Dickinson.
Honorary casket bearers will be Vince Campbell, Travis Young, Michael Givens, Tanner Young, Steven Stark III, Steve Stark II and Daniel Campbell.
