OCEANA -- Thomas Edwin Stinnette, 64, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
Born Sept. 6, 1931, at Craney, he was the son of the late Oather and Wanda Gunnoe Stinnette.
Mr. Stinnette was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, was a U.S. Army veteran with 27 years of service, retiring with the rank of E7 and serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, two tours of duty in Korea, one tour of duty in Alaska and three tours of duty in Germany.
He was a former patrolman for the Town of Oceana with 11 years of service.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Finley and Robey Stinnette.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Osborne Stinnette; a daughter, Patricia McCoy of Oceana; a stepson, Danny Williamson, of Oceana; two stepdaughters, Dolly Thompson and Debbie McCoy, both of Oceana; two brothers, Marvin Stinnette and Otis D. Stinnette and his wife, Susie, all of Oceana; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Evans Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Rollins and Dwight Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery, Oceana.
Friends may call 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Evans and Evans Funeral Directors, Oceana.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
