Joseph T. Frantz, 76, died Monday at his home one mile west and a quarter mile south of Liberty Center. Born September 2, 1894 in Greenbrier County, W. Va., he was a son of Abraham Michal and Lovie Puckett Frantz. His marriage to Walkie Surbaugh, who survives, took place January 3, 1917 at Ronceverte, W. Va.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dale Kirkwood of Petroleum; three sons, Thomas of Bluffton, Nyal of Poneto, Rt. 1, and Robert D. of Warren, Rt. 2, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Roy of Hillsboro, Orel, and five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Martin of North Manchester, Mrs. Lottie Rogers of Wakarusa, Mrs. Betty Samples of Rainelle, W. Va., Mrs. Irene Patterson of Meadow Bridge, W. Va., and Mrs. Ada Adams of Penhook, Va., also survive.
Services will be held Thursday at the Thoma Funeral Home with Rev. Myron Hinton officiating; burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.
