A farmer by the name of Cal Asher, living on a farm of Otha Wearin, about two and one-half miles west of Carleton, was the victim of a horrible and fatal accident. He was harrowing in his field, using four horses. His team ran away with him and the harrow passed over his body. He had been injured some time when found and taken to the house and survived his terrible wounds until early morning, when death relieved him of his sufferings. He was about 40 years of age, of strong and healthy physique, and the father of six children.
