As the stars shine bright, a sweet conversation was started. God had a heart to heart talk with him. "My child, you have run a beautiful life. You have born your friut: Come my child, come home to rest: he replied, "I am ready."

M.D. Charles was the son of John Henry and Sarah Ann Archie Charles. He was born December 14, 1893 in Spearsville, LA. He departed this life October 29, 1979 in St. Francis Hospital in Monroe.

He taught school in Union County and Union Parish for a number of years.

On Jauuary 28, 1917, he was united in holy matriony to Miss Menty Ola Cobb. To this union, eight children were born.

He leaves to mourn his passaging, a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Menty Ola Charles: four daughters, Mrs. Zodie Delores Cardy, Mrs. Annie Mae Solomon, Mrs. Geraldine Owens, and Mrs. Helen Callahan: four sons, Mr. Millard R. Charles, Mr. Pratius Charles, Jewell Charles and Mr. Proctor: three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Vera Pigee and Mrs. Della Parish, and Ms Luvenia Williams: Mr. Emele Charles, Mr. Otis Charles, and Mr. Willie Hansel Charles: thirty-nine grandchildren, forty-three great grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
