Willard DuRell Moss, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11
at Alpine, Wyo. of a sudden attack.Moss was born June
3, 1911 in Woodscross, Utah to George W. and Louise
(Haight) Moss. November 6,1935 he married Elma Kathryn
Bentsen, Montpelier. They were latermarried on June
11,1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. Moss was an elder in
the LDS Church. Survivors include his widow, Elma Kathryn Moss, Montpelier; three sons, Bentsen D. Moss, Bountiful,
Utah; Robert H. Moss, Prove, Utah; and Kevin C. Moss,
Montpelier; and one daughter, Mrs.James (Kathryn)
Kelsey, Joseph City, Ariz. Others include his mother,
Mrs. George W. (Louise)Moss, Eagle, Ida.; three sisters,
Mrs. ,Arthur (Mary) Jensen, Roy, Utah, Mrs. William
(Louise Toothman, Carmichael, Calif., and Mrs. Edwin
(June) Granquist, Sacramento, Calif., and two brothers,
Hal Moss, Eagle, and Robert H. Moss, Sacramento, Calif.
He is survived by nine grandchildren. Moss resided in Montpelier 32 years. He worked34 years on the Union
Pacific Railroad, having retired in July 1974, He was
an avid lover of the out of doors and spent much of
his time at his summer home
in Alpine, Wyo. Funeral services were held
Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier Stake
Centerwith Bishop Byron Cammack officiating.
Family prayer was offered by Robert Berg and Ronald
Thornock gave the opening prayer. Bishop Cammack
presented the obituary and remarks and Doyle Anthony
and Howard McMurray were the speakers. Ruth Kay
Andersen sang "The End Of A Perfect Day" and a male
quartet presented a musical number. The prelude
and postlude music was by Tiena Armatage. The closing prayer was by Ron Stanfield. Dedication of the grave
was by Hal W. Moss and pallbearers were Mike Stanfield,
Glay Homer, Dick Aland, Tim Smith, Larry Bentsen
and Chris Stanfield. Honorary pallbearers were Elwood Sparks, Don Stephens, Weston Martesangneau,
Archie Homer, Einer "Jensen, Darwain Jensen, Delbert
Jensen, Lynn Perkins and Ed Homer.Funeral services
were under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
