She is survived by her daughters Marlene Norin and Arlene Norin Scott and son-in-law Richard Scott, her sister-in-law Mary Weinstein, her brother-in-law Michael Norin, her grandchildren Hayden and Susie Kerzner, Zane and Elisa Koss, Autumn and Jesse Sarzana, Daniel Scott, Kari and Jeff Rich and Devin Blenkhorn and her great-grandchildren Samantha Van Stratten, Leo and Avery Sarzana, and Ashton Kerzner.
Roz, as she was known by her friends, was born February 2, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, where she married the love of her life, Leo Bernard Norin. They adopted twin daughters and moved the family in 1952 to West Los Angeles.
Roslyn was very active in her community as a Brownie Leader and Girl Scout Leader of Troop 205, her nickname was "Winky." She participated in the Shenandoah Youth House and was a member of Sunair Junior League, where she helped raise money for children with Asthma and served one year as president of that charitable organization.
When her daughters went to grammar school, her home was always open to their friends who would drop by for breakfast on their way to school.
She would wake up early to make a pound of bacon with all the fixings and was known to them affectionately as Auntie Norin. Roslyn was a kind, smart and loving woman, she took great pride in her relationships. She kept in touch with childhood friends as well as friends from Marshall High School in Chicago. She enjoyed traveling back east for high school reunions and loved visiting with everyone and learning about their families.
After her daughters married, she enjoyed some of the "best times in her life" with the Palm Desert crowd and her dear husband Leo of sixty-four years. They traveled the world and took many cruises. They loved their children, grandchildren, and many friends.
Following Roslyn's stroke and heart attack, she was transferred to the Jewish Home, where she was lovingly cared for.
Roslyn Weinstein Norin will be buried alongside her husband Leo on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Hollywood Hills.
