GRIFFIN
Ernest "Buck" William Griffin Sr. was born February 8, 1925 in Vancleave, MS and died on November 28, 2007 in Ocean Springs.

Ernest was affectionately known as "Buck". He was a lifetime resident of the Old Fort Bayou community of Vancleave. Buck was a former manager with Ingalls Shipbuilding for 37 years and a Veteran of WWII. He served in the Merchant Marines as a Quartermaster and Pilot. Bucks whole life was dedicated to his family.

He enjoyed spending time working on his farm, especially with the many cows, chickens and planting his gardens. Buck was a hard worker who could do almost anything from carpentry to being a mechanic. He was a multi-talented man, who always took care of his own affairs. Although his last years were filled with sickness, he never complained and went about life with his family still coming first.

All family and friends will sorely miss him. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and Chillie Griffin.

Survivors include his one and only love, cherished wife Audrey Weems Griffin, whom he was married to for 60 years. Audrey was his rock and was always there for him, just as he was for her. He was also survived by two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His devoted son, Ernest "Billy" William Griffin Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Vancleave; his loving daughter, Dianne Griffin Guzzetti and her husband Frank of Greensboro, NC; Deonna Faucetti and her husband Craig of Summerfield, NC; his two beloved grandsons, Ernest "Trey" William Griffin III and Benjamin Clem Griffin of Vancleave and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Alexander and Avery Griffin Faucetti of Summerfield, NC and his beloved sister Louise Griffin Adams, wife of deceased husband, Clyde O. Adams of Biloxi. He loved and treated his wife's family like his own. Buck was also survived by many special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and last but not least many dear and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Internment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007 in Biloxi National Cemetery.
