Left that business and took up nursing the last 25 years of her life. She raised Bert & Elsie Treft after their mother died. Kate never married. She suffered a storke of paralysis two weeks before she died in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Kate attained the age of 74 years, 2 months and 3 days.
