He is survived by his wife, Grace E. Voorhees. Mr. and Mrs. Voorhees would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on May 27th. Mr. Voorhees is also survived by their son, Jim, and his wife, Carol, of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter, Kathryn G. Voorhees of Vaiden; and their son-in-law, Walt Stovall, and his wife, Sandi, of Apple Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Aaron and Holly Stovall of Ft. Wayne, IN, Eric and Jackie Branch of Raymond, MS, Rebecca Abel and her husband, Beau, of Raymond, MS, and Jenny Goss and her husband, Rob, of Ft. Myers, FL. Mr. and Mrs. Voorhees have been blessed with 15 beautiful great-grandchildren. Mr. Voorhees is also survived by his eldest sister, Mrs. Jane V. Gothard of Knoxville, IL; and 14 nieces and nephews and their families.
Mr. Voorhees was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Susan V. Stovall; and grandson, James Cody Voorhees.
Visitation services were held at Lee Funeral Home in Winona on Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Memorial services were held at Lee Funeral Home in Winona on Saturday, May 15, at 4:00 p.m. Dr. Christopher L. Lorhstorfer of Hinds Independent Methodist Church of Raymond, MS, officiated at the memorial service. Mr. Voorhees' ashes will be held for a private family service to be held in June.
