She was married to John William Brackney in 1897 and they had three children. She ran a boarding house in Norfolk, VA in the 1920's and a resort complex in Miami, FL in the 1930's. In about 1937, she married Martin Luther Stone, a builder in the Washington, DC area. He build many homes and apartment houses in that area during the World War II construction boom. She made her home in Washington until the early 1950's when she moved to Richmond, VA. She spent the last years of her life living in her daughter's home in Clintondale, NY.
