SULPHUR SPRINGS ­ Funeral services for Billy V. Graham, 76, of Emory are at 10 a.m. Friday at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hardage officiating. Burial is in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Mr. Graham died Monday evening at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas following a brief illness. Born in Merkel on July 5, 1923, he was the son of Eli and Fay Atkinson Graham. On March 10, 1946 he married Evelyn Willis in Greenville. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Graham was a former longtime resident of the Metroplex area and moved to East Texas in 1990. He retired from retail sales with Payless Cashways in Irving. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, a member of the Faith Sunday School Class and the Silvertone Choir. Surviving are two sons, Billy David Graham of Fort Worth and Carl R. Graham of Point; a daughter, Shelia Frey of Forney; a sister, Wanda Jackson of Garland; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 26, 1998 and a brother, Arthur Graham. Pallbearers are Billy Jackson, Bob Jackson, Richard Willis, David Johnson, Lynn Jackson, Jeffrey Johnson, Stuart Frey and David Burris. Members of the Faith Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church are honorary pallbearers. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
