William was the son of the late Rollin Sr. and Stella 'Reed' Kinney.

He is survived by his second wife Roberta. Also surviving is two sons, William Jr., John Barry; three step-sons Thaddeus, Joseph, Robert; a brother Elwood, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two daughters Lauren J. "Bonita" Kinney; Roseanna Kinney; and his first wife Leona; his parents; a brother Rollin Jr. Kinney and a sister Joycelyn 'Kinney' Mullin.
