He professed faith in Christ when 19 years of age and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church March 11, 1882 and was elected ruling elder Feb. 18, 1883 and served as same 32 years.
He was married to Nancy C. Lamb, Jan. 19, 1871, and to this union were born four children, Mrs. Ida Chandler, Mr. James Allen, Mrs. Anna Dean and Mrs. Minnie Chandler.
