George L. Pike Jr., 67, of Chase Mills, died Monday at his home.
The funeral was held at the Phillips Memorial Home, with the Rev. John Vertigan officiating. Burial was made in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; six daughters, Deborah Stevens, Mrs. George (Diana) Caswell, Mrs. David (Sandra) Demarest, Laura Pike, Mrs. Clifford (Kathleen) Barkley and Mrs. Jay (Cheryl) Brown; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Victor, Vernon, Albert and Kenny; seven sisters, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Osterhaut, Mrs. Alan (Doris) Cameron, Betty Johnson, Mrs. Francis (Donna) Dunn, Mrs. Vernon (Beatrice) French, Mrs. Keith (Alice) Dumas and Mrs. William (Grace) Mcbath, and several nephews and nieces.
Born in DePeyster on July 31, 1924, a son of George L. and Romae Richer Pike, he attended DePeyster, DeKalb Junction and Rensselaer Falls schools. He married Mary Mae Sheets on May 13, 1950, at the Methodist parsonage, Waddington, with the Rev. Albert E. Budd officiating.
Mr. Pike served with the Army, Seventh Infantry Division and the Eighth Air Force, during World War II. He was employed with Aluminum Company of America as a driver in the transportation department until his retirement.
He was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club and American Legion Post 420.
