Mrs. Canterbury succumbs At 85
Mrs. Nancy Roberta Canterbury,
85, of Daniels, formerly
of Bolt, died at 6 a.m. Friday,
at her home following a long
illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1886, at Hinton,
she was a daughter of the late
Thomas and Mae Carlton Stennett.
A member of the Breckenridge
Missionary Baptist Church at Bolt,
she was preceded in death by her
husband,Bert, in 1959. Survivors
include two sons,Thomas of Beckley,
Prosecuting Attorney for Raleigh
County,and Jack Canterbury of Charleston;
six daughters, Mrs. Berna Harvey
and Miss Marie Canterbury, both of Daniels,
Mrs. Berlin (Madeline) Beaver
and Mrs. Luther (Ruth) Greer,
both of Beckley, Mrs. Leffie
(Georgia) Powell of Miami,Fla.,
and Mrs. Jarvey (Gladys)
Brooks of Logan; a brother,
Oather Stennett, Oceana; three sisters,
Mrs. Cora Shannon, ~
Davy, Mrs. Mattie Walker and Mrs.
Lillie Davidson, both of:
Kopperston; 17 grandchildren, .
and 10 great.grandchildren. ~.
Funeral services will be condueted
in the Breckenridge 1 Missionary
Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday
with the Revs. Doff Harvey and Wayne Rollins
officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge
Memorial Gardehns. Friends may call at the
Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today, The body will be taken to the church at service time
