Walter was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War and Army Reserve. He was a Staff Sergeant when he finished his service.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans St. Joseph's Post 752 in Edwardsville for more than 50 years, He was a member of the Korean War Veterans. He was also a member of the Laborers' Union Local 215 for more than 50 years. He also did volunteer work at the VA Hospital inWilkes-Barre, PA.
He enjoyed taking his children and granddaughter to Amusement parks, traveling to different areas and states. He enjoyed watching the Three Stooges, Abbot and Costello and Laurel and Hardy. He to joke around with everyone. He enjoyed his time when sitting on the front porch with family.
Walter was preceded in death by his brother, William.
He is survived by wife, daughter and her husband, son and his wife, granddaughter, brother, sisters, as well as nieces and nephews.
