Attorney. Claude F. McKenzie, known to everyone as "Fleet," died of heart disease at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore on February 21, 2004 at age 74.

A native of Athens, Tennessee, he graduated from Duke University and the University of Baltimore Law School.

He practiced tort law, and worked on civil rights issues with his wife Ann McKenzie. Fleet was also a businessman and community activist who raised a lot of money for worthy causes.

During his 43 years as an attorney, he practiced the law that he loved for the people he loved, in the city he loved, Baltimore, Maryland.
