Michael Keith Tallent, 47, of Madisonville, died Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Sweetwater on Nov. 11, 1962, and graduated from Madisonville High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business and his master's in accounting at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and became a partner in Warren & Tallent C.P.A., PLLC. He will be remembered for being a "Big Orange" enthusiast, his keen sense of humor and his business expertise. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville, the Society of Certified Public Accountants, was a board member of the Good Shepherd Center, the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club and was an Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. "Bob" Tallent; his grandparents, Robert F. and Sue L. Tallent and O.S. and Rena Jeffers Sexton; and his father-in-law, Al Thomas.

Survivors include his wife who he was a devoted husband to, Lisa Tallent; one stepdaughter, Tori Davis; his mother, Kay Sexton Tallent of Vonore; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Rodney and Jackie Tallent and Bobby and Amy Tallent, all of Vonore, and Stephanie Kuhn of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; one niece, Jillian Tallent; five nephews, Jordon Tallent, Jackson Tallent, Jonathan Strong, Bob Tallent II and Christian Tallent; uncles and aunts, John and Nancy Sue Tallent Calhoun, Tom and Mary Tallent, Sibley and Agnes Sexton, Curtis and Carol Sexton, Ray and Courtney Sexton, Dwight and Jane Sexton and Danny and Rachel Williams; many loving cousins and numerous friends; his mother-in-law, Judi Thomas of Cleveland, Ga.; and his father-in-law, George Kuhn and his wife, Laura, of Smyrna.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Madisonville with Dr. Lon Shoopman and the Rev. Curtis Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Good Shepherd Center or to the Tribe Youth Center of First Baptist Church of Madisonville.
