Cassius Virgil McVicker was married to Lydia Ann Badley on 20 Dec 1911 in Eagle Grove, IA. He and Lydia had 5 children: Rosetta Mae (Rosie) , Lawrence Virgil (Bud), Lydia Irene (Irene), Mary Deloris (Dory), and Mildred Lavonne (Vicki). (Newspaper says June 2, but family says May 31.)

C. V. McVicker, 60, died at his home west of Eagle Grove Friday, June 2nd, following a long illness. Mr. McVicker was a life long resident of Troy township, and had farmed in that community for many years.

He is survived by his wife, and five children, Mrs. Fredrick Schrader of Creston, Lawrence McVicker of Hampton, Mrs. Ray Wardrip of Odebolt, Miss Delores McVicker of this city, and Mrs. Phillip Peterson of Boone. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Luella McCurry, one sister, Mrs. Henry Larson, both of Eagle Grove, and two brothers, Wylie McVicker of Mason City and George McVicker of Kenyon, Minn., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church, with the Rev. Harrison Dawes officiating. Music was furnished by soloists, Mrs. D. M. Farran and Kenneth Sandven, accompanied by Mrs. Evert McGrath. Pallbearers were six young men, neighbors of the McVicker family, Spencer B. Smith, James Spangler, Orville Gearhart, Maynard Thompson, Leslie Larson and Francis Hossman. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The Masonic service was given at the graveside.

Out-of-town relatives and friends in addition to the immediate family who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McVicker of Kenyon, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mentz of Faribault, Minn., Wylie McVicker of Mason City, Cecil Bige, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bige, Mr. and Mrs. Radcliffe of Woolstock, Mr. and Mrs. Galord Olson, Terrill, Mrs. W. P. Allen, Des Moines, Jim Mangel, and Walter Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Humphreys and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Humphreys of Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. Verne McFarland, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Raasch of Odebolt, Wm. McGonigle, Roland; Floyd Bell of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Swasand of Vincent, and Mr and Mrs. G. A. Blue of Webster City.
