She taught school at the Red Rock one-room school house for two years. In 1928, she moved to Kansas City to work as a Harvey Girl at Union Station. Mrs. Grower retired from Tempter Sandwich Shop at 11th and Grand where she was a cashier for twenty-five years. She was a charter member of College Heights Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a sister, Lillian Strawn, Osceola, Missouri; two daughters; Susan Bennett of the home and Joyce Kirlin of Hickman Mills; three grandchildren; Molly Bennett of the home, Tim Kirlin of Bolivar, Missouri and Candy Mills of Jefferson City, Missoui; and one great grandson, Keith Mills of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 1989 at College Heights Methodist Church, Kansas City, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Spofford Home or United Way.
