My deepest condolences to the Dobyns family. We have all lost an honorable man of integrity, whose memory will always envelope the most pleasant of times with and around him. Jim became my step-father when marrying my mother Elsie Elizabeth Moore Norton and I became the most blessed of women. He offered to adopt me, but as an insecure teenager, I did not feel worthy at the time (a decision I've deeply regretted). Through his unconditional and continued love and support, I became his daughter and each of my children loved and adored him and knew him only as their Granddad.
We all look forward to seeing him with our Savior Jesus Christ, the risen Messiah, to spend an eternity loving our Lord. Jim Dobyns = love personified.
Not only did Jim himself bless each of us personally, but we all found the entire Dobyns family to do nothing but accept us unconditionally; and Jim valued each and every family member, particularly nephew Tom who gave so many hours of time with love and care. His visitors, especially his sister Betty and cousin Pat Lewis were highly valued by him. Unable to be with this extraordinary family during the service is indeed most grievous to me. May our Lord be and bless each of you.
