Sarah Elizabeth Vernsdoll was born 4 Feb 1856 and departed this life January 26, 1926, age 69 years, 11 months and 22 days.

She was married to Phillip Short Feb 3, 1870, and to this union were born twelve children, four of who had preceded her in death, Mary Bell, Sarah Eveline, William Frances, Charles Adrian, Ira Otis, Ida Mae, John Alonzo, Carrie Ethel, Bonnie Estella, Flossie Celestia, Harry Wallace and Roy Harlan survive her.

She united with the Church of Christ at Bell Air, Crawford Co, in the winter of 1894 and was baptised by Bro. Henry Fowles and has been a faithful member ever since.

She leaves to mourn an aged husband, eight children and a half sister Margaret E. Perkins of Coffeeville, Ks., thirty eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A verse from the Bible Rev. 14:13, And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, Blessed are the dead which die inthe Lord for henceforth; yes, with the spirit that they rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.

Funeral services were held from the Booker Church January 28, 1926, Rev. W. H. Wells officiating.
