George Robert Berger of Bountiful, Utah, died Saturday, 16 November 1996 in the Salt Lake Regional Hospital. He passed away peacefully in the presence of his family.

Bob, as he was called, spent his entire lifetime in Teton Valley and his Utah homes in Milford and Bountiful. He was born in Victor, Idaho, to Lucius Robert and Violet Tonks Berger. His early life and schooling were in Victor, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Faye Kunz. They were sealed in the Logan Temple. He enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Union Pacific Railroad, living in Milford, Utah until 1966, when he and his family moved to Bountiful, Utah, where he retired in 1981. He spent 42 years serving the Railroad and his fellow workers, which included chairman of the Local B of RT, both of Milford and Bountiful.His family has grown from the birth of their four sons, Jerry, Rick, Chris and Joel, and later their wives, who in turn have given them 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, most of them living near the family home. Bob loved his family and they loved him.

He has lived a full and fruitful life, always active in church, civic and job related assignments. He has given a life of serve to those he loved. He and his wife were presently serving as stake missionaries. Some of their other assignments included four years as guides in the Pioneer Museum at Lagoon and many years on a temple assignment, with additional ward assignments. He was an avid genealogist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Nelda (died as a child), Margie Ord, Muriel Holmes and one brother, Keith. His brother, Bud, is presently living in St. George.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 1996 at the Val Verde 1st Ward Chapel, 2633 South 50 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and again Wednesday morning from 11:45 - 12:45 at the Chapel. Interment - Victor Idaho Cemetery.
