I first met Odie in my own backyard. We had a natural divider with the neighbor behind us. Odie came to us from that neighbor. They had 4 kids that would get nipped by him. They were small and was maybe to rough with him. Anyway, he was in my yard barking at me like I was the intruder. I talked softly to him and just let him know I was no threat. We became quite the friends as he would start to spend more of his days at my house to escape the hands of his tormentors. I noticed he was looking like a real rag-a-muffin. I asked the neighbor if they would mind if I cleaned him up. With 4 young kids, other pets, including a parrot that whistles the theme to Mayberry, they accepted my offer. He had belonged to his mother which moved an couldn't take him. So when my son was 10 he got his first dog that became the most beloved pet we have ever had or ever will I believe. Rest in peace my loving little dog soul. I hope to see you again someday.

He became our dog on July 25th 2002. He was 4yrs when we got him.

Put to rest at the Edgewood Vet. Clinic on HWY 49, Auburn, Placer Co.

My husband said he saw a dog that looked like you in our backyard, close to were we buried you. He called me because he was in the front and when I went to check it out nothing was there. I would like to think you live on, just cruzing the place and keeping watch over us.

We had taken apart a fort that was my son's when he got to old for it and used the old door for a headstone marker for his dog. A doorway sort of speak for him to come and visit us.
