She was born on April 9, 1930 at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL, the daughter of Arnold and Clara H. (Koeppe) Berg. She married Donald A. Walter on May 17, 1951 at Our Lady of Victory Chapel on the Naval Base in Norfolk, VA.
Throughout her life, she had been employed by Jewel, Furnas Electric, and Delnor Community Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Donald, of Rochelle; three sons: Donald K. (D'Anne) Walter of Orangeburg, SC, David Walter of Chicago, IL, and Daniel (Christina) Walter of Rochelle; a daughter, Katherine "Kitty" (Kevin) Barker of Batavia; eight grandchildren: Ashley, Jim and Christopher Reeve, Benjamim, Kristin, Austin, Shannin and Andrew Walter; a brother, Frederick (Sylvia) Berg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arnold F. Berg, and a sister, Helen Hartzelland; a daughter, Jeanette Reeve.
Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rochelle, IL on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 10:30 p.m. with Rev. Mark Nordman officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m on Friday, April 6, at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.
Graveside services will be held at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
